Humidity is always high, even though it's easier to bear during the cold season during which the sun shines.
The rainy season is characterized by scattered heavy showers now and then everyday, cloudy weather almost full time.
The tourist season is from December to February, when the temperature
is the lowest. At this time, prices are up by at least 50% for
accommodations.
At any time of the year food is cheap and excellent (sometimes very
spicy). Transportation can be achieved by taxis for low charges.
It is easy to travel in the country, with several flights every days
from Bangkok to Samui, Phuket, from Pattaya to Samui and Phuket.

towards someone's head, and do not joke about the royal family.

| Koh Tao
Koh Tao is an island north of Ko Samui. It is only ok for
advanced kitesurfers as launching area are very small and cluttered
with rocks. Sailing far from beach only.

| Hua Hin
Pak Nam Pran beach is located 25km south of Hua Hin. This is a
wonderful spot, with shallow water, wide beach at low tide, good wind
(given for 15-25 knots) from November to march. It seems that
it's not crowed with tourist even though all you need is there along
the beach. Many resorts and guesthouses, restaurants and bars.
The perfect spot to practice buggy at low tide and kitesurf at high tide.

Khao Takiab Beach, (on the picture left) 10km south of HuaHin
presents the same advantages, but might be more crowded during the week
ends due to hotels and condos.
HuaHin beach itself isn't recommended as it is home of hundreds of tourists |
